ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner please!
2 things that i can never say no to: ice cream & Venice beach! Did you know California produces the most ice cream in america? that isn't hard to believe though. anyway, since we're on the topic of ice cream, let's also talk about diets! this week i have been on a very low carb diet. here is what day 1 looks like for example:
breakfast: 1/2 cup of grapefruit and 1 cup of tea or black coffee
lunch: 2 hard boiled eggs, 1/2 cup green beans, 1 cup tomato juice
dinner: 1 hamburger patty (4-6 oz.), 1/2 cup green beans, 1 small apple
has anyone else tried a diet like this? it really hasn't been too bad, compared to other diets I've tried. here are a few things i've learned when dieting:
1. do not set your goals too high. you really don't want to set your goals to an unreachable point, or else you'll get discouraged and end up quitting or getting overwhelmed. i have done this over and over and finally learned that baby steps are key!
2. it is okay to substitute. Even though some diets tell you not to substitute, it really is okay if you do. i guess it just depends on how serious you are taking the diet, but sometimes i just can't force myself to eat tuna plain, so i'll eat grilled chicken instead, You know what i mean? it's totally okay!
3. if you are on a low carb diet, it is better to not to hit the gym. Don't try and push yourself at the gym when you don't have the energy to do it! exercising will mainly burn you out and make you feel super tired while eating low carbs.. wait until you are back on a normal diet to go to the gym.
i'm really no expert when it comes to nutrition and exercising but, these are some things i have learned from experience. dieting can definitely be a "learn as you go" type of thing. i was hoping to help you out a little bit with a head start and informing you of what to do and what to avoid. in all honesty though, i would rather eat more ice cream! :)
i found this top at H&m! it is such a fun, lightweight shirt. i bought these cute shoes at a gap outlet in California. i searched everywhere online to find these exact ones, but i could not find them! if anyone loves these shoes as much as i do, fortunately i did find a similar pair! Enjoy!
